The Actuarial Science Study Program at UGM regularly conducts tracer and user surveys to evaluate how well its graduates meet labour-market expectations. Employers are asked to rate several key competency areas using a 1–5 Likert scale (1 = poor, 5 = excellent), covering ethics, domain expertise, foreign-language skills, use of information technology, communication skills, teamwork, and self-development.

The latest survey indicates a very high level of satisfaction. Almost all respondents rated UGM actuarial graduates in the good and very good categories, with no responses in the “fair” or “poor” categories across all assessed aspects. Ethics and teamwork received the highest average scores (around 4.9 out of 5), reflecting strong confidence in graduates’ integrity, professionalism, and ability to collaborate effectively in the workplace.
Information-technology skills and commitment to continuous self-development were also highly appreciated, with average scores of around 4.8. This suggests that graduates are perceived as adaptive to technological change and proactive in upgrading their competencies. Meanwhile, actuarial expertise, communication skills, and foreign-language ability scored in the 4.3–4.4 range, indicating solid performance while also highlighting areas for further enhancement, particularly to strengthen graduates’ global competitiveness.
Overall, the survey confirms that employers are very satisfied with the competencies of graduates from the Actuarial Science Study Program at UGM. These findings provide important input for sustaining current quality standards while refining the curriculum and learning processes, especially in strengthening communication and international readiness of future graduates.
