The Undergraduate Programme in Actuarial Science curriculum implements MBKM Rights to support CPL fulfillment and produce graduates who match the profile of study program graduates. The implementation of MBKM in the curriculum is accommodated in the following forms and conditions:
- Integrated Work Lecture (KKT)
Work Integrated Learning is a mandatory study program subject whose main objective is to fulfill the CPL and help prospective graduates become a graduate profile as specified in the Formula of Graduate Competency Standards. KKT is held after all theoretical courses have been completed and covers two forms of MBKM, namely Practical Work in companies and Research in companies, agencies or organizations that require the field of Actuarial Science as a problem solving methodology. As a non-MBKM course, KKT has a weight of 3 credits. As an MBKM course, KKT follows the MBKM Internships and Research provisions. - Courses taken outside the Study Program
Students can take courses outside the study program, either similar study programs or other types of study programs. Apart from that, it is possible to take courses organized by professional organizations such as: (1) E-learning from the Indonesian Actuaries Association (PAI) courses: Economics and Financial Market; (2) The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) Student Central Summer Program. The results obtained based on this study can be compared to case-by-case study program courses by looking at the learning objectives of each course, weight and evaluation results (grades). - Take courses (activities) through the MBKM Program
The implementation and weighting of credits are in accordance with the MBKM Program rules, however the course must meet or be equivalent to the CPL that has been determined for the course. MBKM Program provisions follow agreements within the Department, Study Program and Program/Activity/Lecture organizers - Students take the MBKM program after semester 5 with a maximum total of 20 credits
It is possible to take MBKM courses in semester 5 or earlier for courses organized by professional organizations (such as number 2 above) or exchange students to universities with actuarial courses that have been recognized by the study program or professional organization.
All forms of student activities must obtain approval from the academic supervisor and the Undergraduate Program.
Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) for Integrated Work Courses (KKT):
- Before Students Secure an Institution for Integrated Work Courses/Practical Work/Internship:
- Students consult with their academic advisor to obtain approval for conducting KKT.
- Students contact the target institution to discuss the possibility of practical work/KKT at that institution.
- If the institution requires a letter of recommendation from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, students need to follow these steps:
- Fill out the KKT Application Form, which can be downloaded from the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Program’s website.
- Before students secure an institution for KKT, the academic advisor listed on the form is the academic advisor unless there is a specific policy.
- Students send the form approved by the academic advisor to aktuariaS1.mipa@ugm.ac.id with a copy to kaprodi-s1-aktuaria.mipa@ugm.ac.id for approval by the Head of the Program and the Department Chair.
- Students send the form approved by the Head of the Program and the Department Chair to mipa@ugm.ac.id, with a copy to akademik.mipa@ugm.ac.id.
- Students wait for the letter to be issued (usually within a few days).
- If the institution requires a proposal, and the proposal requires a signature from certain officials within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, students can submit a request for assessment to the Secretariat of the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Program.
- Students are responsible for providing detailed information to the institution regarding integrated work course/practical work, including the expected learning outcomes, an overview of the course (including duration, credit hours, and report preparation), and the need to appoint a mentor from the institution. The mentor will be required to fill out the assessment form provided by the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Program at FMIPA UGM.
- After Students Secure an Institution for Integrated Work Courses/Practical Work/Internship:
- Students provide the data (name, address, position, and contact details – email/WhatsApp) of the institution’s mentor to the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Program via email to aktuariaS1.mipa@ugm.ac.id, with a copy to kaprodi-s1-aktuaria.mipa@ugm.ac.id. The KKT/practical work/internship academic advisor is the academic advisor, hereafter referred to as the program’s mentor.
- Students apply for a letter of recommendation from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (not required for those who have applied before securing an institution for KKT) by following these steps:
- Fill out the KKT Application Form, which can be downloaded from the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Program’s website.
- Before students secure an institution for KKT, the academic advisor listed on the form is the academic advisor unless there is a specific policy.
- Students send the form approved by the academic advisor to aktuariaS1.mipa@ugm.ac.id, with a copy to kaprodi-s1-aktuaria.mipa@ugm.ac.id for approval by the Head of the Program and the Department Chair.
- Students send the form approved by the Head of the Program and the Department Chair to mipa@ugm.ac.id, with a copy to akademik.mipa@ugm.ac.id.
- Students wait for the letter to be issued (usually within a few days).
- Students need to maintain communication with all mentors regarding the KKT process.
- Students undertake KKT and prepare a report under the guidance of mentors from the institution and the program. The report should follow a format that can be downloaded from the program’s website. It should be noted that students must attach an approved logbook to the report.
- The final report must receive approval from all mentors, indicated by their signatures on the document. The report, once approved by all mentors, should be sent to aktuariaS1.mipa@ugm.ac.id.
- Assessment Process:
- The Actuarial Science Undergraduate Program will send a letter to mentors from the institution and program mentors to request an assessment of the implementation of integrated work courses (KKT).
- In some cases, students may be asked to submit an assessment request submitted by the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Program to mentors from the institution/company where KKT took place.
- Students submit the final report to all mentors within two months after completing integrated work courses. Late submission of the final report can result in the course being invalidated. If there is a delay in preparing the final report, students are required to inform the program’s administrators.
- The assessment of the KKT implementation is carried out after the final report is submitted to all KKT mentors. Mentors are allowed to request students to present for the purpose of assessment.
- The results of the assessment by KKT mentors are submitted to the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Program no later than seven days after the final report is submitted to all mentors.
Students submit a soft copy of the final report to the Secretariat of the Actuarial Science Undergraduate Program via email to aktuariaS1.mipa@ugm.ac.id.
