To ensure that graduates remain aligned with labour-market needs, the Actuarial Science Study Program at UGM regularly conducts employer satisfaction surveys. The latest results are presented in a horizontal bar chart using a 1–5 Likert scale (1 = very dissatisfied, 5 = very satisfied). The average scores indicate that employers rate the competencies of our graduates as very good across almost all dimensions.

More specifically, ethics and teamwork received the highest average scores, both at 4.92. This reflects that graduates are perceived as having strong integrity, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively in teams. Information technology skills and self-development also scored highly at 4.77, indicating that graduates are able to adapt to technological change and are willing to continuously improve their competencies.
With regard to core actuarial expertise, employers reported an average score of 4.67, suggesting that the technical knowledge and skills of our graduates are highly adequate for industry requirements. Foreign-language ability and communication skills obtained average scores of 4.38. Although these are still in the “very good” category, they have been identified as priority areas for further enhancement through more presentation-based assignments, report writing in English, and collaborations with industry and international partners.
Overall, all competency aspects scored above 4.30, demonstrating a very high level of satisfaction among employers. These findings provide valuable feedback for the Actuarial Science Study Program at UGM to maintain its strengths in ethics, teamwork, and technology use, while continuously improving graduates’ communication and foreign-language skills.
